Richard & Debbies Bug (AKA the Gringe)

Richard has been involved with the vw scene for a long time, he contacted Oil Droppers as this bug had been stored in his barn since 2009, the bug was put away initially due to engine problems with the intention to sort out when he had time, unfortunately Pro Ground care his grounds maintenance business took priority and four years on she came to Oil Droppers, the original intention was to get her running modify the rear apron so the tail pipes could be fitted & Mot'd so she could be used once more, Richard asked if the door hinges could also be rectified as the doors dropped a lot, and so we started with the tail pipe issue and moved on to getting her running, this turned out to be a result of a the fuel pump as the pump was for an alternator with a push rod for a dynamo, the result was a bent push rod and damaged guide, this was simply rectified and the car was at least running, we then moved on to the Door dropping issue, this proved to be a duel problem with excessive wear to the hing pins and corrosion in the A post around the bottom hinge's this corrosion had also done serious damage to the heater channel's & inner front wheel arches.
